One year after the launch of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, the European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn, visited seven countries from 27 June to 1 July, coinciding with Danube Day celebrations.
During his tour of Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria, he met with senior politicians and stakeholders and visited some flagship projects. It was a good opportunity to raise awareness of the added value of the Strategy.

|First Annual Forum of the EUSDR (Regensburg, 27-28 November): Save the date! |
This first Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region will discuss the state of play and future steps. The conference will also encourage wider reflection on how the macro-regional perspective could contribute to Europe's growth.
The meeting will be hosted by the Government of Bavaria (Germany) and will be attended by decision-makers from business, politics, international organisations and civil society. The medieval city of Regensburg, on the edge of the Danube river will provide an extraordinary and inspiring environment for fruitful discussions.
